Nakivo, a US-based company providing backup and site recovery solutions, brings its users a suite of lucrative features with it’s latest release of Nakivo Backup & Replication. These are some of the key features announced in this update:

Here are the details on each new feature.

Amazon S3 is a scalable cloud-storage platform. With backups stored in the cloud, users are able to recover files, application objects, and VMs from these cloud backups. Now, Nakivo provides their customers a way to send backup and backup copies to Amazon S3.

Users can now restore Windows and Linux physical machines as VMware VMs. This feature allows users to test new updates before applying the to production environments, recover from a physical machine failure, and ease the pain from migrating from a physical to virtual environment.

This feature aims to improve security of data protection activities and give admins more control over task delegation. This means admins can now assign roles to users, each with its own set of rights and permissions.

This feature allows users to restore Microsoft Exchange objects, such as emails and contacts, to the original (or custom) location from deduplicated backups.

As with the previous feature, this feature allows users to restore Active Directory objects, such as user accounts and groups, to the original (or custom) location from deduplicated backups.

Lastly, Nakivo is providing support for fault-tolerant VMware VMs, which work by creating a synchronized replica of a VM.
