Join the ITEnterpriser Slack community.

ITEnterpriser’s Slack network provides a place for people to come together, socialize, and discuss topical content. It’s a great way to connect with our community. You can also keep up with the ITEnterpriser subreddit.

We’ve listed out the Slack channels that you’ll be a part of when joining, and the channels we think you’ll be interested in. Before joining, be sure to carefully read our Slack community guidelines.

Guidelines

Please read these guidelines before joining the ITEnterpriser Slack community. We strive to be an inclusive community where both beginners and seasoned veterans can meet and discuss ideas.

Community Rules

The overall theme here is to just be nice.

  • Be inclusive – People from all corners of the world are a part of the ITEnterpriser community. Bigoted, sexist, racist remarks will not be tolerated. If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all.
  • Personal preference – People use different products and services. It’s possible that someone in the chat helped create one of those products. What works for you may not be the right approach for others. We encourage users to share their thoughts, but do that without tearing other products or services down.
  • Avoid snarky remarks – People come here to ask questions, share experiences, and give advice. Keep an open mind and remember that what may seem obvious to you may not be so obvious to others. Help spread the knowledge without discouraging others.

Rules for Salespeople and Marketers

We’re all individuals. When you join our community, you join as an individual. The ITEnterpriser Slack community isn’t the place to promote your brands.

  • Pitches – You aren’t allowed to make pitches. Our Slack community just isn’t the place for that. If you want to promote one of your products, ITEnterpriser has several options to help you out. Consider becoming a sponsor.
  • Spam – If something you love happens to be on sale, or if a company just released a new product you think people in this community could benefit from knowing about, feel free to share it. If your post is an obvious sales pitch or if you just share a link with no further context, it will be removed.

We hope everyone that joins can follow our community rules. If you find anyone breaking the community rules, we encourage you to try to privately discuss the issue with the potential offender. If you’re unable to resolve the issue, contact an ITEnterpriser team member.

Welcome to the ITEnterpriser Slack community!

This idea, along with the community guidelines, was inspired by Write The Docs. We strongly encourage our readers who are interested in writing documentation to show them some love. They also have a Write The Docs Slack community that we highly recommend being a part of. Thanks for the inspiration to the terrific members behind Write The Docs–we love you!
